Note

This document describes how drivers can implement a custom Miracast stack in Windows 8.1. As of Windows 10, the OS ships with a built-in Miracast stack that can work on any GPU and it is no longer recommended that drivers implement a custom Miracast stack. This documentation is therefore deprecated and Microsoft may remove support for custom Miracast stacks in a future version of Windows.

Alright, you're on a laptop with integrated graphics, which are really not designed for running powerful games. I don't think your graphics processor is supported by the game, so if it does get working, it will have to be on low graphics settings, and it probably won't run too fast. Refer to the following link for latest available drivers for the Intel® Wireless 7265 Family (Rev.C), Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 and Intel® Wireless 7260 Family adapters. Note Starting with Software Release 21.50.1, there will be no new Wireless driver versions released for Windows. 7 and Windows. 8.1 operating systems.

Wireless (Miracast) displays can optionally be supported by Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM) 1.3 and later drivers. This capability is new starting with Windows 8.1.

In response to an operating system call to the QueryMiracastDriverInterface function, the Miracast user-mode driver must supply pointers to these functions in the MIRACAST_DRIVER_INTERFACE structure, except for pfnDataRateNotify, which is has a pointer declared in RegisterForDataRateNotifications.

Wireless display (Miracast) display callback interface

The Miracast display callback interface contains functions that are implemented by the Microsoft DirectX graphics kernel subsystem to support wireless (Miracast) displays. This interface is supported starting in Windows 8.1.

Here's how you can update your wireless (WiFi) driver on your PC running Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10:

  1. Determine the wireless driver that you're running on your PC, along with the date and version. Open the command prompt (Win key + R, type 'cmd') and enter the following command:

You should get a screen like the one below:

  1. If the driver is more than one year old, we suggest you update it. Copy the driver name from the command prompt screen and do a Google search.
  1. Download the latest available driver for your wireless (WiFi) adapter from the manufacturer's website. In the example above, go to the Download Center for Intel and choose the driver for the Windows version you are running. If you're unsure of what version you're running, just check the 'System type' information in the System properties screen (Win key + Break). (We suggest downloading the file to your Desktop).
  1. Install the driver by running the installer. If the driver doesn't have an installer:
    1. Open the Device Manager (You can do this by pressing the Windows but and typing it out)
    2. Right click on your wireless adapter and choose Update Driver Software.
    3. Choose the option to Browse and locate the drivers you downloaded. Windows will then install the drivers.
  2. Reboot your PC after installing the updated drivers.
